Chocolate Nut & Seed Clusters
The health and wellness sphere can be quite confusing at times. It’s incredibly easy to get caught up in the latest fad, and jumping in full steam ahead can be at times more detrimental than beneficial. With so many influencers out there, the pressure of doing what’s right for you can seem all too much to cope with. It’s in these regards that I always come back to and promote intuitive eating. Yes, this may include experimenting with certain foods and ways of eating, but ultimately it’s finding what feels good and what makes you happy and full of energy. These Chocolate Nut & Seed Clusters are a perfect example of…

Chia & Flax Seed Breakfast Bowl
These last few weeks I’ve been mixing up my diet a little, and opting for a more ‘high-fat/low-carb/keto‘ approach. I can honestly say that I’ve felt such a difference in only a short period of time. Initially the whole idea seemed a little out of balance to me. However having done more research into this way of eating (and feeling some the benefits), I’ve been pleasantly surprised. This Chia & Flax Seed Breakfast Bowl has been my go to breakfast option while testing out this new way of eating. It’s quick, fulling and so easy to make, not to mention versatile in that you can have it cold or warm.

Natural Homemade Deodorant
One thing I am so passionate about is natural deodorant, and have converted a fair few people to using alternative natural deodorants as opposed to main stream ones. Embracing natural beauty and all it has to offer, is so exciting and quite liberating when you begin to realize how much less your exposing your cells to. This post is all about the Natural Homemade Deodorant I make and have been making for the last 4-5 years. Tried and tested over and over again, it really is my go to deodorant choice – one that I know works so well, only has a handful of ingredients and is so incredibly affordable.

Raspberry and Tahini Puffed Millet Squares + VIDEO
The thing with healthy eating is to be prepared. One way to be prepared is having loads of snacks and healthy treats available to avoid yourself from caving in to unhealthy temptations. That’s why I like to always have ‘ready made’ snacks and treats on hand, to curb those cravings and satisfy them with a healthy alternative that, at the same time, is nourishing my body. These Raspberry and Tahini Puffed Millet Squares are such a quick snack/treat option that literally are made in one bowl, popped into the freezer overnight to set and that’s it! Slice them into squares once frozen, pop them into a lunchbox, and you have yourself a…

Tofu Miso Soup (Vegan)
While there is much speculation around the whole ‘soy’ topic, and the fact that genetically modified soy beans are penetrating more and more of the global soy markets, there are still loads of health benefits in fermented soy products. Containing less anti-nutrients, fermented soy products, like Miso, have an array of nutritional benefits and can have a positive effect on so many bodily systems. This Tofu Miso Soup recipe is an example of how fermented soy products can be incredibly delicious, along with reaching high points on the nutrition scale. It is 100% plant based and is seriously such a quick and easy delicious meal that can be thrown together in no time at…

Blueberry Chia Muffins (Vegan)
I know what you’re probably thinking when looking at this title image – Blood splatter/Dexter crime scene? Right? Thankfully it’s not! It’s just a little Blueberry CHIA drink, beautifully exhibited on my kitchen counter. When the lovely peeps from CHIA sent through some of their delicious drinks, it was time to get creative and play! Now blueberries are one of my staples in the kitchen. They’re so incredibly delicious, loaded with antioxidants and the perfect snack being not too high in sugar. I always have a bag of frozen blueberries in the freezer, and generally like to have them in breakfasts, as well as with coconut yoghurt as an after dinner…

Antioxidant Green Tea Porridge
I must admit, I was a bit apprehensive about this recipe, and how it would turn out. The thought of combining green tea with porridge did seem rather strange, but my curiosity got the better of me and I’m so glad it did. I was so lucky enough to receive this Repower Green Tea from Artemis, and that was it! Inspiration levels were high and the ball began rolling in the direction of a recipe success! I’ve loved green tea from the first time I tasted it, and I believe it really helped to boost my metabolism and curb my taste buds when I initially started my health journey. It would be…

This Roasted Brussel Sprout, Edamame and Curry Sunflower Seed dish may have an array of unusual flavors, but I found it quite tasty!

Oat Crunchie Bars
It’s Easter weekend and I’m slowly slipping into this well awaited break/4 day weekend. I can’t quite believe that we’re a third of the way through the year already, but I’m feeling happy with how this year is shaping out. We have an exciting trip back to South Africa planned in October, which I am so happy about. I cannot wait to see my family and friends. Holiday times can be hard when you’re away from your family and friends, and at times like these I like to reminisce in memories, and this Oat Crunchie Bar recipe in particular was inspired by childhood memories I’ll never forget.

Lemon and Thyme Tartlets
As the season’s change, and we slip back into our Winter cocoons, I reflect back on to the warmer and longer days. I love this time of year, as it always reminds me how balance is so important in our lives, as well as in nature. While our Summer wasn’t as great as last years, I still am grateful and am looking forward to Winter. While we (in the Southern Hemisphere) transition into this cooler season, colds and flu’s may arise, and these Lemon Thyme Tartlets are just what you need to satisfy your sweet tooth, and keep you on guard for those pesky Winter colds. Using the Artemis Thyme…
