Travel – Kaikoura, New Zealand
For the recent long weekend, we decided to take a road trip to our good friends in Christchurch, via the coastal route passed Kaikoura. We spent a night in this quaint seaside village, and had a wonderful time exploring what it had to offer. Travelling New Zealand is one of our favourite things to do, and Kaikoura was superb!

Pelorus Bridge Camping Adventure
While I love sharing my healthy recipes on the blog, I also like to share tidbits of my life including the beautiful places we adventure to. This week I wanted to share our recent camping adventure to Pelorus Bridge Scenic Reserve. Taking photographs of the delicious recipes created for this blog is so rewarding. However, I also have so much fun capturing the beauty of nature, especially in this magical country. For this getaway, I decided to bring the camera with and collect a couple of images of our various walks around the area. It was a glorious and hot summers day, and there was heaps of visitors at the…

Artemis Kidney Cleanse Tea Review
I love herbal teas! I’ve been a ‘green-tea-kinda-gal’ for a while now but since moving to NZ, and discovering all the amazing herbal teas here, I’ve tried and tested a few. I love The Hollow’s selection of teas, and I know they’re of great quality. I especially love the Orange Rooibos they have, cooled into an ice tea with loads of fresh mint and fruit. So refreshing on a hot day! There’s a few supermarket brand I love too, like the Plant Organic Female Balance tea bags. I really love the flavor of this, and especially enjoy it in the morning with my breakfast. But taking a few steps up…

Vegan Tofu Scramble
Well! I’ll start this blog off by saying it’s been a rather intense week! While I’m super excited to share this Vegan Tofu Scramble recipe with you, I’ll give you my brief summary of my experience of the recent earthquake/s. If you haven’t heard already, New Zealand had a 7.8 Earthquake at a little past 12am early Monday morning. I awoke abruptly to Nick shaking me and instantly I knew what was going on. The earth was moving. Our whole house was shaking, and so vigorously that the water in the toilet was loudly swishing from side to side. Instant panic mode! My first instinct was to run outside, yet…

Wainui Falls Adventure
This Valentines Day (well technically the day before), Nick and I decided to treat each other to an awesome experience, an adventure. I have been dying to visit a waterfall, so I did some googling and found Wainui Falls, in the renowned Abel Tasman National Park. Now Nick and I haven’t done much exploring in the Abel Tasman National Park yet, which is crazy (I know!) as it’s one of the main tourist attractions in the area. We’re just not really kitted out for tramping and camping just yet, but we’ll get there! So this walk was perfect as the drive there was roughly 2 hours from Nelson, and the walk…

Gardens of the World Adventure
We were hankering for a little adventure, one that was not too far away, but still beautiful and invigorating. We racked our brains (and Google) and decided on Gardens of the World in Hope. As it’s Spring and flowers are in bloom all over, these gardens were sure to have some beautiful images for us to enjoy and capture.

Pupu Springs & Fairwell Spit Adventure
Since moving to New Zealand, our sense of adventure has sky rocketed. With so many outstandingly beautiful places to experience, there’s always a place to go on the weekends. So that’s what we like to do. Adventure off, into the distance. With the sunroof open and the sun shining down on us! Wind in our hair and eyes wide open. Experiencing all that this beautiful country has to offer. Pupu Springs & Fairwell Spit was our next destination of choice.

Pic’s Peanut Butter Factory Tour
I am such an avid fan of supporting local businesses, and in Nelson, I’m so lucky to have access to an array of beautiful products made locally. From locally picked frozen berries to Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, I make a point of supporting local businesses and reducing my carbon footprint as much as I can. In these modern times I believe every little helps! That brings me to one of my most favorite locally made products, and one that has featured in a number of my published recipes, the ever so popular Pic’s Peanut Butter!

Takaka Hill Adventure
I absolutely loved this little adventure up Takaka Hill (New Zealand). We woke up early, filled our bellies, and set off. In the middle of winter, you can imagine how crisp and chilly the morning air was, but it was magical. We took a relaxed drive through Richmond, Motueka and Riwaka, and at the bottom of Takaka Hill we stopped to take a look at the river. The frost covered ground was absolutely stunning! There’s something about a chilly winters morning that can invigorate and awaken you, well it does for me. The fresh air is somewhat energizing, and this energy fueled my excitement for the rest of the trip. The…

The Hollow – Nelson
I’d been dying to visit the newly opened tea cafΓ©/space in Nelson that everyone was talking about. Since changing my lifestyle and diet, herbal tea’s have become a huge part of my life. I love herbal teas! They’re so refreshing and there’s so much you can do with them. From hot drinks, to cool summer ice teas, to even using them in recipes. So many options!!! Hence my excitement for the new tea cafe/store/gallery/event premises The Hollow. Situated in a sneaky little spot on Nelsons Bridge Street, The Hollow’s warming atmosphere pours out of it’s big black doors.
