Coconut Turmeric Porridge
When I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism, I delved deep into research. Why, when it felt like I was doing all the right things, was my body behaving contradictory? I’d been eating a clean, whole food plant based diet for the better part of 7 years – why now was everything out of balance? Autoimmune conditions are tricky, to put things lightly. Just when I thought I’d gotten a grasp on managing and living with Type 1 Diabetes, this whole new chapter in my life opened it’s pages for me. After much contemplation, and not feeling particularly in the mood for blogging, or sharing for that matter, I’m slowly feeling more…

Travel – Roadtrip to Queenstown and Fox Glacier
We recently headed off on a long weekend adventure to Queenstown and I thought I’d share it with you guys. We decided to leave for Christchurch on Thursday evening after work. We drove down as dusk was setting and the full moon peeped through the clouds. She was beautiful! I love the moon, and it felt like she was guiding us safely to our destination, popping up around every corner and mountain top sillhoette.

My Diagnosis and my Healing Protocols
Thank you to those who’ve stuck around while I’ve been on a few months hiatus. I think the last time I posted a recipe was before our trip to South Africa at the end of last year. Needless to say I’ve been out of the swing of things with regards to this little online space. But I have returned and wanted to share my recent diagnosis with you, so grab a cup of tea and let’s get into it. In my mind, when scary health events happen in our lives, we often look to others for help, comfort or suggestions. It’s human nature to seek connection in times of uncertainty,…

Caramel Hazelnut Balls – Only 4 Ingredients
It’s my mission to share how delicious and easy healthy food can be. This Caramel Hazelnut Bliss Ball recipe is the perfect way to show how incredibly tasty healthy treats can be. Using only 4 ingredients (yes you read correct, only 4 ingredients!), these balls are fudgy and have the most perfect texture, and the lightly roasted hazelnut flavor adds such a delicious dimension to this simple healthy recipe.

Red Velvet Beetroot Brownies with a Fluffy Aquafaba Vanilla Cashew Cream Frosting
I’ve been wanting to make a Red Velvet Beetroot recipe on the blog for ages. Being not too sure if I wanted to experiment with either cupcakes or brownies, I settled on the latter. Brownies are a good size for a treat, and a little can go a long way. And so, these Red Velvet Beetroot Brownies were created. Crumbly yet gooey at the same time – what perfect balance. The intoxicating red hue from the crimson beetroot is captivating to say the least. It beckons an elegance that I was eager to experiment with and share.

Carrot Bran and Walnut Muffins
With Easter around the corner, lots of you will be entertaining or visiting family, and these muffins are a perfect accompany to any family tea. They’re a healthy alternative to store bought, sugar laden muffins, and are sweetened with dates and raisins. They’re full of fiber and are very very ‘moreish’! If you’re like me, and love that little mid-morning or afternoon pick-me-up-snack and a cuppa tea, then you’ll love this recipe, because these muffins really hit the snack attack spot. They contain affordable ingredients, so are great if you’re on a budget.

Grilled Aubergine Stack
I’ve decided to start a Throw-Back-Thursday section to my blog, where I’ll post some recipes and other content from ‘back-in-the-day’. I’ve decided to share this recipe with you, which is one of my earliest entries. I love love love aubergines, or as we call them back in South Africa ‘Bringals’. They are quite versatile and can be used to make vegetable lasagna, are the main ingredient in the middle eastern baba ganoush, and make perfect additions to any roast vegetable dish.

Quinoa and Kidney Bean Burger Patties
Who doesn’t love tucking into a huge, delicious and satisfying burger? Well these patties are vegan & vegetarian friendly, are super healthy and so so tasty! With only a few ingredients, these patties are great for a tight budget. Surprisingly the ingredients bind really really well (even with no egg or egg substitute), so there’s no fuss of patties falling apart, which, let’s be honest, can sometimes be so annoying!

Omega Spinach Pancakes
I love pancakes! Such a fun treat to make, and what a pleasure in creatingΒ this healthy version. A perfect way to hide green leafy vegetables for kiddies, and so easy to make! In these modern times, there is no much acidic influence in our lives. Whether it be from diet or exposure to harsh chemicals, our bodies are constantly tryingΒ to stay in perfect pH balance.
