My Current Favorite Products

Copy of Copy of RecipesThis week I thought I’d do something a little different on the blog, by sharing some of the products I’ve been loving recently.

I always love reading other wellness bloggers and finding out what interesting goodies they’ve been using. I find it quite inspiring and really interesting so why not share what I’ve been using?

They range from tea to superfoods to self tan, and are all natural and eco-friendly. So grab a mug of tea, nestle down and get cosy.

1. Sienna Byron Bay Nail Polish

This eco-friendly, non-toxic, vegan and cruelty free nail polish is absolutely stunning and one of the best I’ve ever used. I’m not too big on nail polish, and I lay it down to the fact that my nails actually feel quite claustrophobic when I have it on. However, this Sienna Byron Bay Nail Polish (in the color Ambrosia) leaves my nails feeling like they’ve got nothing on them. I love love love it! The coverage is wonderful, even without the base coat and I found mine to last for a good 4 days without chipping. That’s pretty damn impressive! Their range of colors is just stunning and the thing I love most about them (besides the gorgeous wooden brush cap) is their story.

95% of the components used in Sienna Byron Bay nail polishes are from Australia. The timber cap is from a non-native tree removed for forest sustainability and rejuvenation reasons, and is hand-picked for its grain and color qualities. Each cap is then individually hand turned. Our printing (using soy inks where possible) is through local companies, and always on recycled card. The only aspect of our product that is from outside Australia is our vintage style glass bottle, imported from Europe.”

I find it so inspiring reading about companies that are making such awesome products with such amazing ethos behind them! I find it that much easier to support them with my $’s, as I know I’m supporting people doing good in the world.

2. Vital Greens

Let’s begin with this Vital Greens Superfood Powder. After being recommended it by a friend, I must say I have been loving it and can definitely feel a difference when I don’t take it in the mornings. It doesn’t have the traditional ‘not-so-great’ green powder taste, as it has a natural sweetener profile that includes stevia which makes it much more palatable. I take 2 teaspoons every morning in a little glass of water, but you could also use coconut water as a medium. It’s great to add to smoothies and smoothie bowls, and leaves you feeling assured that you’re putting a tonne of nutrients into your system.

3. Grin Toothepaste

Ever since discovering the truth about fluoride and it’s negative effects on human health, I’ve opted for natural toothpastes that contain no flouride, parabens, sls, etc. While I do tend to chop and change quite often, I’ve really been loving this Grin Cool Mint Toothepaste.

This toothpaste is 100% natural, free from any nasties and contains key ingredients such as infused manuka oil extracts, natural propolis extracts and organic sea salt. These all help towards cavity-protection, fighting bacteria and keeping a healthy pH balance in your mouth. The minty freshness is wonderful and although it’s not 100% Vegan, it’s still a winner in my books πŸ˜‰

4. Hurraw Lip Balm

This Hurraw Vanilla Bean Lip Balm is, hands down, the BEST lip balm I’ve ever used. I cannot recommend it enough. It leaves my lips feeling supple and nourished. All natural, vegan, and made from premium raw, organic and fair trade ingredients, this is my go-to lip balm and essentially is on me at all times!

The scent of this vanilla bean flavor is divine, as I’m sure are all the other flavors. It’s great for Winter and Summer and is also a perfect base before applying lipstick.

5. Dandy Detox Tea

I’ve been religiously having this Morlife Dandy Detox tea every night after dinner. It has such a lovely flavor, and while I don’t normally add a plant milk to herbal teas, this tea tastes really good with a dash of almond milk. It’s the perfect option for an after dinner ‘something’, and I know it’s full of detoxifying ingredients with no caffeine to keep me awake.

It is free from artificial flavours, colours, and preservatives and the teabags are made using unbleached paper. It contains a combination of herbs specially selected to facilitate wellness.  It’s soothing and calming and an all round wonderful tea! 6. Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes

I’ve only been recently using these wipes, and I’ve found them to be really gentle yet great at removing makeup and built up residue on the skin. These Burt’s Bees Facial Cleansing Towelettes are made with FSC certified natural cloth and infused with natural ingredients, to keep your skin looking and feeling great.

These one’s that I have been using are infused with White Tea and Cucumber Extracts plus Aloe, which leave your skin feeling clean and not sticky at all like some facial wipes do. They have a pleasant smell and I found them so handy while camping. Not too sure if they’re vegan, but I do like them and will be purchasing them again.

7. Coconut Deodorant

I’ve been finding it so difficult to find the perfect deodorant, and have tried so many natural brands with none of them really leaving me feeling 100% assured and happy. That is until now! This Coconut Deodorant by Eco by Sonya Driver seriously is such an amazing deo that I have fallen in love with. And as it says so on the packaging, “YES it works!”, and it really does. I love the feel of it along with the scent.

It’s free from synthetic ingredients including aluminium and parabens, and is made using only certified organic natural ingredients that are safe to be in such close vicinity of the lymph nodes. The lymphatic system is a network of vessels, tissues and organs that help rid the body of toxins, waste and other unwanted materials. Bombarding it with chemical laden anti-perspirants is the last thing you want to do, and that’s why I opt for natural deodorants to ensure optimum function of my inner waste removal system.

8. Eco Tan Winter Skin

Another product from Eco by Sonya Driver that I have fallen in love with. Coming out of the wrapped up winter months, my skin has lost it’s sun kissed golden glow, and so to take the edge off (especially in the leg area πŸ˜‰ ) I found this Eco Tan Winter Skin gradual tanning moisturizer to work a charm. Unlike other self-tans, this one doesn’t have harsh smell yet smells rather lovely. There is a slight scent of that ‘self-tan’ smell, but it doesn’t linger. The tan I got from this was beautiful. Even and absolutely no streaks.
The developed color is gorgeous and doesn’t look fake at all.

Eco Tan Winter Skin
I apply this in the evening after I have exfoliated the areas and showered to ensure my skin is clean. I then start with my legs and work my way up, using little coin size amounts as I go. Just like a moisturizer I massage it into my skin until it’s completely absorbed. It doesn’t leave my skin feeling sticky at all, but nourished which is great for a self tan. I love the fact that it’s a build-able gradual tan, as there’s nothing worse than a terrible orange self applied tan. Again this product has no hidden nasties and is made with natural & certified organic ingredients. Love it! and am happy to support brands that are doing good and making eco-friendly products.
