Teeccino Herbal Coffee Review
I stumbled across this box of ‘yummyness’ while browsing our local Green Grocer. I have tried the peppermint flavor before, so I decided to give this hazelnut option a try. Goodness me is it delicious!
Lately I have been super conscious of what I’m putting in my body, and especially of what I’m consuming and it’s effects on my liver. Now I absolutely love coffee! Don’t get me wrong! Every now and then I do have a cup of the real deal, and yes, I feel the amazing effects of it. After not having coffee for a while, you can really feel the ‘drug-like’ effects that caffeine has on your body. For me, a cuppa coffee is really like a little ‘high’.
With that being said, I have decided to lay off the beans for a while and give my liver a break. It’s not that I was drinking it in excess, it’s just that I’m not too sure I enjoy the after effects of the ‘caffeine high’. Being super sensitive to it, I can definitely notice them.
So it’s was great luck to stumble across this product.
Teeccino is an American based company founded by Caroline MacDougall. Caroline has over 30 years experience in the herbal products industry, and has designed numerous award-winning herbal beverages for top tea and natural products companies. She describes, “Herbs have taken me all over the world, introducing me to other cultures, luring me into tropical forests, wilderness areas and remote villages. Herbs have always been my vehicle for interesting encounters with the world at large, both human and plant!”*
So she awoke one morning with the inspiration to create a caffeine free cappuccino, and hence Teeccino Caffeine-Free Herbal Coffee was born.
One of the things I love about this product is that it’s essentially coffee in a ‘Tee-Bag’. It’s so convenient, especially if you don’t have a coffee press or strainer. There is SO much flavor in each bag, that one ‘Tee-bag’ tends to make two strong cups of delicious caffeine free coffee.
Ingredients
- Carob (Caffeine free chocolate powder)
- Barley (Popular coffee alternative)
- Chicory root (French coffee alternative)
- Dates & Figs (Natural sweeteners)
- Almonds (Adding rich nutty flavor and antioxidants)

Another great aspect is that Teeccino uses unbleached tea bag filter paper, and each Tee-bag is individually wrapped in an envelope to seal in flavor and make it easy to transport wherever you go.

I absolutely love the hazelnut flavor of this product, and the taste without the jittery after effects of caffeine. To conclude, this is a lovely product and I cannot wait to try more from the range. Be sure to check out their website for all their products – Teeccino Caffeinie-Free Herbal Coffee

Hi, I’m really enjoying this product as well. I decided that caffeine wasn’t really serving my life anymore so I quit altogether and this is the closest thing I can find. I also add Chaga to my dark teeccino roast for added richness and 2 scoops of water solvable collagen (flavorless)! One question I have, what is the “natural coffee flavor” that’s added to Teecino. I noticed it in the dark roast teecino I’m drinking. It says caffeine free on the box but I’m taking my little project here seriously and want to understand what that is. I’ve looked all over the web and found nothing on it . Next stop is to call the company. Thanks!!

Hi Carin
Thanks so much for your comment. So glad you’re enjoying this delish coffee alternative. The addition of Chaga sounds so interesting – I am yet to delve into the world of medicinal mushrooms. Any tips on where to start?
I’m not too sure what the natural flavouring could be – perhaps dandelion root? As that tends to have quite an earthy/coffee flavour. I’d be interested to know if you do hear back from the company?
