Warming Beetroot Carrot and Ginger Juice

It’s getting really chilly here down in the depths of the Southern Hemisphere, so this week on the blog I’ve decided to share a fresh vegetable juice recipe. This warming carrot, ginger and beetroot juice is just what you need to stay on-top of your health and to limit any nasty colds and flu’s.

As the colder months approach, I tend to crave more warming, dense, comfort foods. Through winter, a great way to remain healthy (as well as staying balanced and happy) is to load up on freshly juiced vegetables and fruits.  Continue reading

Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins

Copy of Recipes (6)With the apparent abundance of lemons this time of year, I’ve been incorporating as much lemon into my diet as possible. Whether it be squeezed freshly over a salad, or juiced and frozen into ice blocks for a refreshing glass of sparkling water. It hasn’t been difficult because I love lemons, and use them so regularly. Blackcurrant CHIA and Mint Protein Smoothie

Raw Vegan Lemon & Lime Cheesecake

The world of raw food is so diverse, and really can be so artistic. I often sit scrolling the internet for inspiration, and my mind is often blown at what people can create with raw food. Now I don’t mean raw as in salmonella raw, I mean food that hasn’t been heated over 47degrees C (I think) and no nutrients or natural enzymes of the food have been damaged due to heat. I myself don’t follow a fully raw diet at all. I find what feels good with my body, and my body likes warm foods. I do, although, like to keep between 60% and 80% of my diet raw, which includes fruits, vegetables, nuts, etc.

So one of my main fascinations with the raw food diet, is the raw desserts. Oh my goodness me! have I seen some A-M-A-Z-I-N-G creations! I got incredibly inspired, and created this super delicious raw vegan cheesecake, which sent my taste buds on a high of note! Continue reading
