There’s nothing better than indulging on a homemade popsicle on a hot summers day! Although summer hasn’t really made a huge appearance yet this year, there have been some pretty warm days, and a sneaky little refreshing (and healthy) popsicle is such a great “after dinner treat”. So if you’re looking for a last minute treat for the weekend ahead, I’ve got just the recipe for you. These Chocolate Coconut Popsicles are sure to interest you.
Let’s get to the good stuff! This recipe is seriously so quick, and only needs 4 ingredients! Yup, ONLY 4! The process is so simple too, blend and set in the freezer overnight! Who would have thought these creamy, subtly sweet pops could be so affordable and easy to make! I was inspired by a friends lovely mum, who actually made some with rooibos tea and mixed fruit. They were absolutely delicious! And I knew I had to try create some for myself. Continue reading
Love is not only an amazing feeling that brings such joy and warmth, it is also an vital tool in well being. Living your life from the perspective of love can seriously have a positive ripple effect on every aspect of your life.
Learning to love, feeling love and seeing the world through love are some of the topics I’ll be delving into this post, including all the goodness of these Sunflower Seed Cookies. Quite fitting as it is the month of love, but let’s not forget about ourselves and the practice of self-love. Self respect. Continue reading
I love this time of year! Holidays, summer sunshine and lots of creative juices flowing in the kitchen. There’s always so many awesome Christmas recipes flying around the net this time of year, and I could just burst with all the inspiration everywhere.
This year, my Christmas recipe is for these delicious Gingerbread Men Cookies, which just so happens to be refined sugar free and 100% vegan!
Not that that dampens any of the delicious flavor these cookies have. The texture! It’s that perfect crunchy and incredibly addictive texture that keeps us coming back for “just one more”. Continue reading
I set myself a challenge with this recipe. That challenge was to create something delicious out of the ingredients I already had. No additional purchases. Just make do with what I had in the kitchen.
So, with inspiration and creativity flowing, this Beetroot Coconut Ice Recipe was created. My hope is that you also have similar ingredients in your kitchen to create this recipe, and if not, then to use your imagination and have fun creating something with what you have already.
My mentality and drive behind this recipe, was being so grateful that I actually have all the ingredients I need to create something nutritious and delicious. Being grateful that I just need to turn to my kitchen to find what I need to use my imagination and creative juices to make something yum. Continue reading
Is it just me, or is there something so incredibly exciting about new health and wellness products?
I walk through the isles of our local Fresh Choice store and am always enticed when I discover a new product on the shelves. Recently there’s been a few popping up and I especially got excited about the launch of CHIA’s new range of gorgeous drinks. Just in time for summer, the lovely CHIA team have release 4 new flavors of their ever popular CHIA range.
As you all know, I am super keen on supporting local businesses, and CHIA is definitely one of them! CHIA is a Nelson based company that is all “about adventure and the outdoors, good food, and living a balanced sustainable lifestyle.”
“In creating CHIA, we wanted to share something of nutritional value for sustained energy and well being. CHIA started as an endurance drink for athletes, but we soon realized that everyone can do with a nutritional boost.” Source Continue reading
Recently I’ve been reflecting on this blog, and analyzing how it makes me feel. I absolutely love sharing health and wellness content with my growing community. It inspires me to no end, and I feel such a sense of gratitude that I am able to.
Wellness with Taryn has become such a special part of my life, and there is so much more juicy stuff to come. Today I’d like to share with you this delicious Purple Protein Smoothie Bowl recipe which I’m sure you’re going to love!
All the recipes and foods that I create come from a place of love. Love for my body, love for health and love for this earth.
Coffee! One of the most popular drinks in the world. Most cannot start a day without it. When I’m out and about I tend to drink decaf, however a shot of caffeine every now and then is okay. I can definitely feel the effects of caffeine, maybe as I’ve become more sensitive to it.
To be honest, I never really feel that great after having a coffee – be it decaf or regular, yet in the moment it always seems like a good idea.
Recently I’ve been cutting out soy from my diet, so I’ve been having my decaf cappi’s with almond milk, which is pretty tasty! Although I still feel rather flat after drinking one, so I don’t have them too regularly.
But here, in this Chocolate Espresso No Bake Brownie recipe, I decided to use full caffeine coffee for the intense flavor. That, and the fact that Nick’s coffee machine makes a pretty darn good espresso! 🙂 Continue reading
I have been dying to get a waffle maker for ages now, and it finally happened! So you can guess who’s recently been having waffles galore! It’s so nice to experiment and try foods that you wouldn’t normally eat. Though of course these still fall between the lines of being gluten free, refined sugar free, healthy and vegan.
Experimenting and creating different dishes, trying new ingredients, and really just having fun with your food can be so rewarding, especially if you know that the food you’re eating is doing your body a whole lot of good (as well as your mind 😉 ) Continue reading
I was recently invited to speak at Revolution – Women Empowering Women, which was a charity event in Nelson. The event was in aid of raising funds for the wonderful Whole Lotta Life foundation which was founded by Kristine Paterson in 2013. This foundation aims to provide those diagnosed with cancer between the ages of 20-45yrs a community filled with knowledge, guidance, hope and support.
It aims to give people what they need – a community with support and access to information that’s related to them specifically. This foundation raises funds for retreats where inspiration flows and hope is restored. It’s such a great cause and it was such an honor to be involved. Continue reading
With the apparent abundance of lemons this time of year, I’ve been incorporating as much lemon into my diet as possible. Whether it be squeezed freshly over a salad, or juiced and frozen into ice blocks for a refreshing glass of sparkling water. It hasn’t been difficult because I love lemons, and use them so regularly. They’re amazingly good for you, as I’ll discuss a little later on.
So, while searching for inspiration, this Lemon Poppy Seed Muffin recipe was created, and I incorporated the ever so delicious Vanilla Cashew Glaze. This creamy sweet concoction paired so well with the zesty lemon muffins ending in a recipe success. Continue reading
