I am so excited to share this recipe with you guys, and I had such fun creating it. I find it so amazing how you can create something so decadent, beautiful and delicious with only a handful of ingredients. This recipe is perfect for breakfast and easily prepared the night before or spruce it up for a jaw dropping dessert.
The most exciting part of this recipe was the discovery of the Chocolate Raspberry Mousse. When the ‘coconut milk soaked’ chia seeds are blended with raw cacao, frozen raspberries and a sweetener of your choice, the most decadent perfect textured mousse is created. Stop it! I know! Ah-maizing right?? Continue reading
This week on the blog I thought I’d share a couple of my favorite recipes so far. Sifting through archives and reminiscing on past dishes has been quite wonderful, therapeutic in a way. A stroll down memory lane is always good. These recipes range from sweet to savory and are in no particular order.
One thing that gathering all these recipes has made me realize is how much time, effort and hard work I’ve poured into this blog. Not that it feels like work at all! Continue reading
These last few weeks I’ve been mixing up my diet a little, and opting for a more ‘high-fat/low-carb/keto‘ approach. I can honestly say that I’ve felt such a difference in only a short period of time. Initially the whole idea seemed a little out of balance to me. However having done more research into this way of eating (and feeling some the benefits), I’ve been pleasantly surprised.
This Chia & Flax Seed Breakfast Bowl has been my go to breakfast option while testing out this new way of eating. It’s quick, fulling and so easy to make, not to mention versatile in that you can have it cold or warm. Continue reading
I know what you’re probably thinking when looking at this title image – Blood splatter/Dexter crime scene? Right? Thankfully it’s not! It’s just a little Blueberry CHIA drink, beautifully exhibited on my kitchen counter. When the lovely peeps from CHIA sent through some of their delicious drinks, it was time to get creative and play!
Now blueberries are one of my staples in the kitchen. They’re so incredibly delicious, loaded with antioxidants and the perfect snack being not too high in sugar. I always have a bag of frozen blueberries in the freezer, and generally like to have them in breakfasts, as well as with coconut yoghurt as an after dinner sweet treat. Today this kitchen staple is starring in this Blueberry Chia Muffins recipe! Continue reading
I must admit, I was a bit apprehensive about this recipe, and how it would turn out. The thought of combining green tea with porridge did seem rather strange, but my curiosity got the better of me and I’m so glad it did. I was so lucky enough to receive this Repower Green Tea from Artemis, and that was it! Inspiration levels were high and the ball began rolling in the direction of a recipe success!
I’ve loved green tea from the first time I tasted it, and I believe it really helped to boost my metabolism and curb my taste buds when I initially started my health journey. It would be my go to drink wherever we were. A substitute that would be my crutch, contributing to my health at the same time. This Antioxidant Green Tea Porridge recipe brought back all those memories, and reminded me of how strong willed I was. These day’s I’m a little loose around the reigns, but slowly am tightening them back up. Continue reading
Mornings have to be one of my favorite times of the day, especially when they involve pancakes! For the majority of the time, I tend to have easy stuff for breakfast, like smoothies, smoothie bowls, porridge or granola/muesli, but occasionally I’ll sneak in a “treat breakfast”, and recently it was these tasty Chocolate Banana Pancakes.
These pancakes are pretty easy to make. It’s just a matter of throwing all the ingredients into your blender or nutribullet, blending and then there you have it – perfect plant based pancake batter, ready to go. Continue reading
There are so many diets or ways of eating out there at the moment, it can be quite over whelming. Which one do I try? How do I know what’s right for me? Where do I start? From vegetarian to paleo. From vegan to celiac to intermittent fasting. There are so many options and so much information which can make transitioning to a healthier lifestyle so daunting.
I’d say the ultimate goal is to find peace with your food. Finding a lifestyle and diet that suits you perfectly and not one that leaves you feeling stressed out. Continue reading
I’ve seen loads of blog posts on this topic and have watched a few Youtube videos too, and they always tend to inspire me and spark ideas, so I thought it’s definitely time for me to share what my nourishment looks like in a day.
It’s always so interesting to see what other people eat, when they eat, and how much they eat. Interesting to me that is! And I also find inspiration in the creativity of the food that people eat.
Food is so personal. It can tell a story. It can tell you about a persons culture, what they were craving, what they enjoy. So intimate! Food sustains us and nourishes not only our bodies, but our minds. It reminds us of people, places and spaces in time, shaping our memories and our cultural heritage. It’s a form of personal expression, and helps bring people together. Continue reading
