Tried and tested a handful of times, I can see this Broccoli Flatbread recipe becoming a regular favorite. It’s just such a simple recipe and is a perfect alternative to bread. Straight out the oven or popped into the toaster, this recipe is full of goodness.
This Broccoli Flatbread is gluten free, low in carbohydrates, refined sugar free, egg free making it 100% vegan, as well as incredibly delicious. The texture is perfect, and the ingredients hold well together without falling apart. Continue reading
I love seasonal eating. I love the abundance of locally grown food that is at it’s peak supply. Happy farmers, happy consumers and happy wallets. While it’s saddening that avocado’s are nearly triple their usual price, bright and beautiful pumpkin is bountiful. Vibrantly golden, this wholesome and nutritionally dense vegetable is just what I feel my body needs in these cooler winter months. Continue reading
It’s getting really chilly here down in the depths of the Southern Hemisphere, so this week on the blog I’ve decided to share a fresh vegetable juice recipe. This warming carrot, ginger and beetroot juice is just what you need to stay on-top of your health and to limit any nasty colds and flu’s.
As the colder months approach, I tend to crave more warming, dense, comfort foods. Through winter, a great way to remain healthy (as well as staying balanced and happy) is to load up on freshly juiced vegetables and fruits. Continue reading
I am so excited to share this recipe with you guys, and I had such fun creating it. I find it so amazing how you can create something so decadent, beautiful and delicious with only a handful of ingredients. This recipe is perfect for breakfast and easily prepared the night before or spruce it up for a jaw dropping dessert.
The most exciting part of this recipe was the discovery of the Chocolate Raspberry Mousse. When the ‘coconut milk soaked’ chia seeds are blended with raw cacao, frozen raspberries and a sweetener of your choice, the most decadent perfect textured mousse is created. Stop it! I know! Ah-maizing right?? Continue reading
You know that feeling when you make a dish that just is so perfect on all levels? That’s what happened with this dish – let me explain. I was browsing and searching for something creative to make for dinner. Something that I could make for Nick and I, and something that was easy and at the same time, delicious!
I stumbled across this Rainbow Thai Noodle Salad with Peanut Lime Dressing recipe from the Little Spice Jar blog. I was looking on here to find a recipe that Nick would enjoy, that I could either substitute the meat/ make it vegan friendly. This recipe caught my eye and I’m SO GLAD it did, because I love how it turned out. Continue reading
This week on the blog I thought I’d share a couple of my favorite recipes so far. Sifting through archives and reminiscing on past dishes has been quite wonderful, therapeutic in a way. A stroll down memory lane is always good. These recipes range from sweet to savory and are in no particular order.
One thing that gathering all these recipes has made me realize is how much time, effort and hard work I’ve poured into this blog. Not that it feels like work at all! Continue reading
The health and wellness sphere can be quite confusing at times. It’s incredibly easy to get caught up in the latest fad, and jumping in full steam ahead can be at times more detrimental than beneficial. With so many influencers out there, the pressure of doing what’s right for you can seem all too much to cope with.
It’s in these regards that I always come back to and promote intuitive eating. Yes, this may include experimenting with certain foods and ways of eating, but ultimately it’s finding what feels good and what makes you happy and full of energy. These Chocolate Nut & Seed Clusters are a perfect example of a delicious and nutritious treat, that will leave you feeling great and satisfied. Continue reading
These last few weeks I’ve been mixing up my diet a little, and opting for a more ‘high-fat/low-carb/keto‘ approach. I can honestly say that I’ve felt such a difference in only a short period of time. Initially the whole idea seemed a little out of balance to me. However having done more research into this way of eating (and feeling some the benefits), I’ve been pleasantly surprised.
This Chia & Flax Seed Breakfast Bowl has been my go to breakfast option while testing out this new way of eating. It’s quick, fulling and so easy to make, not to mention versatile in that you can have it cold or warm. Continue reading
One thing I am so passionate about is natural deodorant, and have converted a fair few people to using alternative natural deodorants as opposed to main stream ones. Embracing natural beauty and all it has to offer, is so exciting and quite liberating when you begin to realize how much less your exposing your cells to.
This post is all about the Natural Homemade Deodorant I make and have been making for the last 4-5 years. Tried and tested over and over again, it really is my go to deodorant choice – one that I know works so well, only has a handful of ingredients and is so incredibly affordable. Continue reading
The thing with healthy eating is to be prepared. One way to be prepared is having loads of snacks and healthy treats available to avoid yourself from caving in to unhealthy temptations. That’s why I like to always have ‘ready made’ snacks and treats on hand, to curb those cravings and satisfy them with a healthy alternative that, at the same time, is nourishing my body.
These Raspberry and Tahini Puffed Millet Squares are such a quick snack/treat option that literally are made in one bowl, popped into the freezer overnight to set and that’s it! Slice them into squares once frozen, pop them into a lunchbox, and you have yourself a healthy treat or snack to satisfy any lurking cravings or hunger pangs. Continue reading
